Wow! What an amazing con that was! It went by so fast! Why does it always feel that way after you leave?!
Well, this year was most certainly the most AWESOME AWA EVER! I mean, every-time I go to Anime Weekend Atlanta it's awesome but this time was something special! Why...?
Because SENGOKU BASARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH!!! I was over the moon with happiness!!!! On Friday, wearing my Masamune cosplay, I was told that a SB group was showing up on Saturday so I geared up and did my party-coat Masamune twice in a row! Which was exhausting but totally worth it because I got to meet all these amazing fellow Basara fans!
And what's even better is in what little time I had shopping around, because shopping in armor and half-blind wearing an eye-patch is near impossible,
I found a TON of Sengoku Basara merch that I never thought I'd see in person outside Japan!
I got to see some other awesome cosplayers too, even ran into who I haven't seen since the AWA cosplay contest 2 years ago. She does amazing cosplay, handmade...she's so talented! Go check out her gallery!
Walked around with the biggest group of my own Otaku buddies, 20 of us! And for some it was their first con ever so yeah, very exciting!
My best buddy came with me, it was her first time at AWA too! We got our guns on and made an awesome Sengoku Basara duo as Masamune and Nouhime!
But two days as Masamune was too much so I ended up switching things around and did my Yaichi cosplay on Sunday. I think 2 people MAX recognized my character, but that was enough to make it worth it. They kept saying 'Oh we NEVER see this character!' So yeah, representing the obscure but awesome shows. It was fun. I feel more comfortable wearing kimono than anything anyway.
And my sis went as Oguna no Takeru from an obscure manga called Takeru - Opera Susanoh Sword of the Devil. It's an awesome story with excellent character design! Go check it out!
I didn't really go to any panels or anything, not much caught my interest, but I did go see Ask An Anime Character which was hilarious, though I was bummed that Scott McNeil wasn't present for that. I would've totally asked Duo Maxwell something! AHHH!!! After that was Totally Lame Anime, which sadly had about an hours worth of technical difficulties so the show was cut short significantly, but that still is an AWA highlight for me and always will be! I saw some new 'lame' anime I hadn't seen, stuff from the 70s that were just hilariously awful! I was cracking up so hard!!! But best part was hanging with my friends, shopping and representing Sengoku Basara, which thankfully people recognized and some got interested so YEAH!
Raise the banner, the One-Eyed Dragon has conquered AWA! LET'S ENDLESS PARTY! YEAHAHAAAAA!!!
